Green Lemonade Smoothie

Rating: 51

Servings: 2-3

Drinking blended greens is a great way to include healthy, raw greens into your diet. If you don't have a heavy-duty blender, remove the tough stems from greens and chop the vegetables into 1-2 inch pieces. Experiment with different combinations for variety of nutrients and taste.

Ingredients

  • 1 handful of grapes, 1 banana, 1 pear, or 1 apple
  • 3 cups greens (mix of kale, collards(remove tough stems if using a regular blender), bok choy, parsley, celery, cucumber, spinach, cabbage)
  • 1 cup filtered water
  • 1-2 handfuls ice cubes
  • Juice from 1/2-1 lemon, plus some of the peel if it’s organic
  • 1/2 packet of stevia or 1/4 teaspoon green leaf powder*)
  • 1-2 tablespoons hemp seeds, chia seeds, flax seeds or soaked sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 inch chunk of fresh ginger, optional
  • *this is the most natural form of stevia

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients into blender and blend for 30 seconds to 1 minute

Notes

This will make enough to share or save for the next day but I wouldn’t keep it any longer.
